The Carlsbad City Council met Tuesday to discuss options for resuming in-person public meetings. The council agreed to resume in-person council meetings starting July 13, and changed the start time to 6 p.m. The council held hearings and approved tax levies for the Carlsbad Tourism Business Improvement District and the Carlsbad Golf Lodging Business Improvement District. The council held a public workshop Wednesday on laws and regulations on installing 5G cellular technology and other wireless communication facilities.

The Del Mar City Council met in closed session Monday to discuss litigation and property negotiations. Volunteering at Mt. Woodson Elementary School years ago started Linda Phillips-Dodson down a path of part-time and full-time educational support jobs that culminated in her recent honor as Ramona Unified School District’s Classified Employee of the Year for 2021-22.
Phillips-Dodson, who works as a secretary V at Ramona Community Campus just one level below the district’s top-tier secretarial position said she was “shocked and surprised” when she was awarded the honor Feb. 25 in the school’s office.
