Katherine Bonneau was charmed by Mikhail Kosyan’s ability to be himself, along with his sense of humor and thoughtfulness. They were engaged after seven months.
“Do you need me? I am there.” These words, written by Unity poet James Dillet Freeman, remind me that the presence of God is within and around me every moment, bringing order and peace to my world. I open my mind and heart to this divine energy and become more mindful of its activity. I discover the order of nature in the changing of the seasons, the glory of the tree leaves in transition, and cyclic ocean tides. I find intricate order in the masterful work of my body as it functions to keep me healthy. I am grateful for the constant presence of order. If I ever need a reminder of it, I simply turn within and recall the words, “I am there.” In all ways, I am blessed by the magnificence of divine order.
If I am surprised by a sudden storm, I seek protection from the elements. Shielding myself from the wind and rain, I take cover until the storm passes. Whenever the storms of life begin to swirl, I find my protection in my awareness of God. I begin by turning my focus inward and quieting my mind. I may place my hand gently over my heart, breathing in the radiant energy of divine love and life as I recall the words of James Dillet Freeman’s “Prayer for Protection”: “The power of God protects me; the presence of God watches over me.” No matter how fierce or unrelenting the storms of life, I find my protection in God, my source of strength and security. I rest soundly, abiding in this truth: Wherever I am, God is.
