We continue our spring positional recaps today by giving our final take on Nebraska’s tight ends. WHAT WE LEARNED: Allen and Vokolek are a solid 1-2 As Nebraska heads into 2021, they appear to have their best 1-2 combo at tight end in several years. Juniors Austin Allen and Travis Vokolek are both proven commodities, and they are going to have a very big role in this offense both as receivers and blockers. The coaching staff feels Allen is a legitimate NFL prospect moving forward, and with the premium value placed around tight ends, Vokolek could easily find himself in that category too.

December 28, 2020 Hey guys, I do a breakdown of the class most years on a different medium, and thought I’d share my analysis with you guys. Hope you enjoy! If you think I’m an idiot and disagree with anything…that’s just fine because you’re entitled to your opinion and I’m just some guy on the internet. QB: Heinrich Haarberg 6-5 185lbs 3 (.8702) Kearney, NE Haarberg is a must take in this class, but he fits the same mold as McCaffrey and Smothers in that they are better athletes than they are QBs right now. Haarberg however, has the best raw QB tools of the 3. He has a quick, compact release and the ball explodes out of his hand. He completed ~59% of his passes this year against low level competition so he needs a lot of refinement, but he has everything needed to be an absolute stud of a QB. ANDREW CARLSON, Norris High School James Carnie took a little break from studying for his last final exams of high school to finally nail down his college future with his dream school. The Norris senior tight end signed his football national letter of intent with Nebraska in a small ceremony at the high school before the sun was up Wednesday morning, completing his sudden climb from a rising high school star as a junior to a Power Five conference college recruit within a span of months.
