Ao Phangnga National Park in the southern Phangnga province will open some attractions to welcome tourists starting on Aug 1.
The national park is located along the Andaman coastal line and north of Phuket. It oversees an area of 400km² or about 250,000 rai including islands, islets and the country s largest mangrove forests. The national park is among the top 10 popular national parks in Thailand.
To support the government s Phuket Sandbox policy, the Ao Phangnga National Park will allow visitors to visit the park s iconic site Khao Tapu, the karst islet standing tall not far from Khao Phing Kan Island. The islet was one of the shooting locations for the ninth film in the James Bond series, The Man With The Golden Gun in 1974. Thanks to the film, the islet has been known as James Bond Island ever since.

With so much going on right now on our beautiful island of Phuket, it can be hard to keep up with where is open and available for a day out at sea. Fear not, 5 Star Marine will give you the latest island and national park scheduled openings, with lots of inspiration to satisfy the island tripping lovers out there.
Enjoying the Phi Phi Islands.
Hong Krabi, the Krabi islands, Phi Phi and Phang Nga Bay have all been closed for sea tours in the last month or so; but let’s consider what has done for the local wildlife for a moment. Closing down these areas gives the islands and national parks a much-needed chance to recover, and nature responds as sea and wildlife populations start to return amidst the quiet. These closures mean that when we are once again able to visit, the islands can be experienced as never seen before.
