Minnesota reported zero new COVID-19 deaths on Monday, according to the daily report from the Minnesota Department of Health.
This is the first time the death toll has reached zero since March 22. Before that it had been 11 months without a day of zero COVID-19-related deaths.
Another 1,197 Minnesotans tested positive for COVID-19 in Monday s report. That includes 30 in Stearns County, 12 in Benton County and 35 in Sherburne County.
Here are the current totals in the tri-county area:
Stearns County: 21,504 cases and 219 deaths.
Benton County: 5,463 cases and 97 deaths.
Sherburne County: 11,063 cases and 80 deaths.
The number of people who tested positive for the disease caused by the novel coronavirus reached 569,440 cases on Monday and 7,079 people have died, according to MDH.
