You greetings as well as welcome for all of you being here in the city of soelma once again as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Movement. I would like to say that on behalf of the citizens of selma which is about 20,700 citizens i bring you greetings and welcome on behalf of them as well as the city council members. I would like to say also that our city of selma is an old city, incorporated in 2018. 2018. Oh, since the 1820s. I apologize. [laughter] i got a little ahead. 1820. Certainly as we go through this history, pegasus, what, about 195 years old roughly . Incorporated because there was already something there, but it became a incorporated, and i made is the third oldest city in alabama, monbile one, montgomery second and selma third.
