Liberty to Host Kennesaw State in Weekend Series at Liberty Arena

Liberty (0-3, 0-2 ASUN) hits the road for the first time this season, traveling to Florence, Ala., for a weekend series at North Alabama (0-1). The Lions haven t played since Jan. 22, when they opened the season with a 3-0 setback at Chattanooga.
Liberty and North Alabama both came into the ASUN Conference beginning in the 2018-19 academic year. While the Lady Flames have gone 4-0 against UNA over the last two seasons, each of the 2019 meetings went a full five sets. Current Lady Flame Aspen Thompson clinched the last meeting, Nov. 3, 2019 in the Vines Center, with a solo block to seal set five, 15-13.
Liberty hosts first-year program Old Dominion on Friday at Liberty Arena. The Lady Flames opened Liberty Arena last Friday with a 3-0 setback to VCU, while the Monarchs (2-1) began the season with home wins over George Mason and Delaware State sandwiched around a 3-0 loss to VCU.
2021 Spring Sports Admissions/Tickets Due to COVID-19 and state regulations, capacity at all Liberty Athletics events is under a limited capacity of 250 patrons or 30 percent capacity, whichever is less based on social distancing protocols, per Virginia Governor Ralph Northam s current Phase 3 guidelines. Liberty opens its 2021 spring season in the brand-new Liberty Arena, hosting VCU on Friday at 10 a.m. The Lady Flames posted a 21-12 record during the 2019 season and made their first postseason appearance since 2012, advancing to the quarterfinals of the National Invitational Volleyball Championship (NIVC). VCU went 24-7 in 2019, including a perfect 14-0 in Atlantic 10 play. The Rams received an automatic berth to the 2019 NCAA Division I Women s Volleyball Championship before falling to Cincinnati in four sets in the first round.
