PML-N secures victory in PP-84 Khushab by-election
PML-N candidate Barrister Moazzam Sher Kallu won the PP-84 Khushab by-election by a wide margin after securing 73,081 votes, according to provisional results released by the Election Commission of Pakistan on Thursday.
Unofficial results showed PTI’s Ali Hussain coming in second place with 62,903 votes. Independent candidate Amjad Raza came in third with 8,340 votes, followed by the candidate from the recently banned Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), Hafiz Muhammad Asghar Ali, who secured 5,782 votes.
PPP’s Ghulam Habib Ahmed came in seventh with 235 votes.
The seat which covers tehsil Noorpur Thal and some villages of tehsil Quaidabad, had fallen vacant due to the death of PML-N’s Waris Kallu who won it four times consecutively. The party gave the ticket to his son, Moazzam.

PML-N’s Malik Moazzam was in the lead with 69,816 votes against PTI’s Ali Hussain who had acquired 59,235 votes as results from 220 of 229 polling stations of PP-84 Khushab by-election trickled in till filing of this report.
The seat had fallen vacant after the death of PML-N MPA Malik Waris Kallu, who died on March 12 from Covid-19.
The polling started at 8 am and continued till 5 pm without any break. The government by way of preparations, had formed 10 teams to monitor the electoral process all the way to the announcement of the results. The PML-N, PTI and PPP were among the parties contesting the poll, with a total of eight candidates in the race.

KHUSHAB: Results have started to trickle in for the by-election in Khushab city of Punjab’s Sargodha district.
According to the unofficial, preliminary results from 95 of 229 polling stations, PML-N’s Moazzam Sher Kallu is in the lead with PTI’s Ali Hussain Khan Baloch in second place.
Reports suggest the voter turnout was satisfactory.
The seat fell vacant after the death of PML-N MPA Malik Muhammad Waris Kallu, who died on March 12 from COVID-19. The government by way of preparations, formed 10 teams that will monitor the electoral process all the way to the announcement of the results. The PML-N, PTI and PPP are among the parties contesting the poll, with a total of eight candidates in the race.

SARGODHA: Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) nominee Barrister Moazzam Sher Kallu was leading against Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf candidate Ali Hussain by a margin of over 6,000 votes in PP-84 (Khushab) by-poll on Wednesday.
Unofficial results from 130 polling stations out of 229 (at 10.45pm) showed that PML-N had bagged 38970 votes against PTI’s 32905.
