The president and founder of the Council of Malaysian Women Political Leaders said Netanyahu had tried to justify the attacks as an act of self-defence, claiming that Palestinian fighters led by Hamas had struck without provocation.
“The Israeli Prime Minister is lying due to the fact that this latest violence erupted after the Israeli government evicted several Arab-Palestinian families from their homes in Sheikh Jarrah in the East Jerusalem district.
“Provocation also occurred when the Israeli Defense Force attacked the Al-Aqsa Mosque while Muslims were worshipping inside, ” Zuraida said in a statement on Monday (May 17).
Citing a report in the Wall Street Journal, Zuraida, who is also Housing and Local Government Minister, said she believes Netanyahu had planned the attacks on Palestine as he faces various allegations of corruption and bribery in the Israeli courts.
