The Andhra Odisha Border Special Zonal Committee (AOB SZC) of the banned CPI (Maoist) has condemned the statements made by surrendered Moaist Muttannagari Jalandhar Reddy that the movement had weakened.
Jalandhar Reddy, who joined in the erstwhile People’s War Group (PWG) in 2000, surrendered before Director General of Police (DGP) D. Gautam Sawang at the A.P. Police Headquarters, at Mangalagiri in Guntur district, on April 20.

Maoist leader G. Jalandhar Reddy, who was involved in the abduction of former Malkangiri collector R. Vineel Krishna in Odisha, surrendered before the police in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday.
Jalandhar Reddy alias Krishna was one of the top leaders of Andhra-Odisha border special zonal committee of the banned CPI (Maoist). Reddy was mainly active in what is now known as the Swabhiman Anchal of Malkangiri district in Odisha.

MANGALAGIRI: Muttanagari Jalandhar Reddy a top leader of the CPI (Maoist), surrendered before the Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police D Gautam Sawang on Tuesday. Jalandhar was involved in many criminal cases and carried a Rs 20 lakh reward on his head.
While addressing the media at the police headquarters in Mangalagiri, Jalandhar stated that he was disillusioned with Maoist ideology which was now obsolete and also due to the lack of public support and lack of recruitment from local Adivasis, he said. He said that the Maoist movement was facing an unprecedented crisis. He said the party was divided over its activities and decisions under these circumstances. Field level conditions and his health condition were also not permitting him to continue in the movement.
