Covid-19 (March 12): 1,575 new cases, 3 deaths Published Modified12 Mar 2021, 10:51 am A - COVID-19 | The Health Ministry today reported 1,575 new Covid-19 cases, of which more than half were reported in the Klang Valley alone. The Klang Valley accounted for 54.8 percent of new cases followed by Sarawak (11 percent), Johor (8.6 percent) and Penang (8.4 percent). Notably, there were 25 new cases reported in Perlis today.  Malaysian citizens (80.9 percent) made up almost all the new cases. Active cases: 17,074 Three new deaths were reported today, bringing the national Covid-19 death toll to 1,203. The three victims are from Kuala Lumpur, Sabah and Selangor respectively. One victim - a foreigner - was brought to the Canselor Tuanku Muhriz Hospital in , Cheras, Kuala Lumpur only after he had died.

12 Mar 2021 / 19:42 H. Pix for representational purpose only. KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia today recorded 1,575 new cases of Covid-19, with three deaths reported in the last 24 hours. Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were also 2,042 recoveries in the same period, bringing the cumulative number of those recovered to 302,662, while the total number of deaths due to the epidemic stood at 1,203. “Of the new cases today, 1,568 involved local transmissions, comprising 1,269 Malaysians and 299 non-citizens, while the other seven are import cases,“ he said via his official Twitter account today. Dr Noor Hisham said Selangor continued to record the highest number of daily new cases with 751, followed by Sarawak (173) and Johor (135).
