Man jailed for voyeurism involving five women in Brunei

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/ANN): An Indonesian man was sentenced to 24 months’ jail after he pleaded guilty to eight charges of voyeurism related acts victimising five women. Acting Senior Magistrate Kamaliah Fadhilah Ibrahim noted that Heri Suwando’s actions were quickly becoming habitual and that he got bolder each time. The court voiced its serious views on violations of a person’s privacy where in this case footages were taken of victims in their own bathroom at their home “where one should have a sense of security and safety”. DPP Nurul Fitri Kiprawi revealed in court that Heri was residing at a staff house on Jalan Jaya Negara, Kampong Pandan 4 when he first came across an opportunity, hearing someone using the bathroom at the neighbouring staff house, walked over, took his phone out and reached to the window to film the victim showering at 9.07am on March 28.
