KL cops arrest 11 for illegal gambling

KUALA LUMPUR: Ten Chinese nationals and a Malaysian were detained following raids on illegal gambling centres on Jalan Conlay here. Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said police, acting on a tip-off, raided a serviced residence on Jalan Conlay at about 2am on Sunday (Dec 20). We arrested five Chinese men and a Malaysian man at the housing unit. We also seized 94 mobile phones and three laptops, he said when contacted on Sunday. Further investigation led police to another unit at the same serviced residence at 2.20am, where five more Chinese men were detained, he added. Various items including 96 mobile phones and two laptops were seized, he said.
