He said among the new community clusters detected included the Jalan Bestari Yayasan cluster, of which the index case is a 53-year-old local woman with a history of traveling from Selangor to Johor on July 9 to attend a funeral.
According to him, the woman tested positive for Covid-19 on July 22, and 38 screening tests performed on close contacts revealed another 19 positive cases. Another community cluster that involved a funeral is the Kerilla cluster, of which the index case is a 38-year-old local man who travelled from Klang, Selangor to Tanah Merah in Kelantan on July 11. This resulted in nine positive cases being detected through screening tests conducted on 23 close contacts, he said in a statement on Friday.
