Woman's body found in drain in KK sub-district

KOTA KINABALU: A woman who was last seen walking back from a restaurant to her house in Inanam near here early Wednesday (Aug 31) morning has been found dead in a drain.

Covid-19: Seven new clusters on Friday (April 16), three linked to workplaces

PETALING JAYA: Seven new Covid-19 clusters were reported on Friday (April 16), three of which are linked to workplaces. Two other clusters were linked to detention centres, and one each to a community and an education centre, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said. The Jalan Sultan Iskandar cluster in Bintulu, Sarawak, is linked to a public institution where 27 cases have been detected out of 440 individuals tested. The Jalan Balakong cluster in Hulu Langat, Selangor, with 19 cases was detected after screening of workers at a construction site, while the Jalan Kia Peng cluster in Kuala Lumpur involved an entertainment centre where eight people tested positive.

Malaysia's Covid-19 cases jump to 2,551, Sarawak again leads with 960 infections

KUALA LUMPUR (April 16): Malaysia’s new Covid-19 cases jumped to 2,551, from 2,148 yesterday, with Sarawak once again accounting for the most cases at 960. Selangor came next with 590 cases followed by Kuala Lumpur (245) and Kelantan (164), Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham said in a statement. He said the latest cases raised the number of confirmed infections in the country to 370,528. Two Covid-19-related deaths were reported in the 24 hours up to noon today,  both in Selangor. This brings the country s pandemic death toll to 1,365. Dr Noor Hisham said all but 29 of the new infections were locally transmitted, involving 10 Malaysians and 19 foreigners. A total of 1,524 recoveries were reported today, raising total recoveries to 350,563, or 94.6% of all cases. The number of active cases which carry transmission risks stood at 18,600.
