We planned to do something in his honor much sooner. Covid got in the way of this and so many other things. But we are glad to be able to come together now with so many of you here in the room in person including judy and other members of the family along with literally hundreds of his friends and colleagues. The ultimate test of anybody running an institution is leave it in better shape than he or she found it. That is not meant as a criticism of those who came before, but the nature and measure of the task. He did just that and as the successor, i was the beneficiary.
