Authorities were called out to the mcdonalds on southwest state and oralabor road around 10 30 on saturday night and found two people shot. Stephanie moore joins us with an update. Steph . Police are still conducting interviews but say it appears some bad manners may have led to the shooting outside the mcdonalds. Police say when they arrived on the scene they found two people, 18 year old Justin Phongsavanh and 18 year old Nickolas Culver suffering from gun shot wounds. Both men were taken to the hospital by ambulance. Justin has since been released, but nickolas remains in serious but stable condition in the ic u. Police have not released her name. A new division will review and identify possible cases involving Wrongful Convictions in iowa. This morning, governor branstad announced the creation of the Wrongful Conviction division in the state public defenders office. While he praised iowas criminal justice system, the move comes after the fbi recently admitted to serious errors in cases involving hair comparison analysis. Yet we know issues can arise even in a well regarded system like ours. After reviewing cases, if the division finds problems, it will work to seek legal solutions.
