The Blair Oaks offense came through when it needed to. The Falcons collected only one hit, but Warren Davis’ sixth-inning RBI single put them up for good in a 3-1 Tri-County Conference win Saturday afternoon against the Southern Boone Eagles at Vivion Field.

It’s a scheduling dream come true. The Blair Oaks Falcons are playing a Week 9 game against the Southern Boone Eagles with plenty on the line tonight. It’s a state-ranked matchup between the Class 3 No. 1 Falcons and the Class 3 No. 10 Eagles. There’s a chance for Blair Oaks to move up to the coveted No. 1 spot in the district standings. And, most importantly, the Tri-County Conference championship is up for grabs, as both teams enter the game with 5-0 records in Tri-County play.

Goal Lines: Blair Oaks faces Boonville in matchup full of offensive threats

The Blair Oaks Falcons remember the past two times they visited Boonville very well. The score was constantly changing on the scoreboard in both games in 2021. A total of 76 points were scored in the regular-season meeting, a 41-35 win for Boonville, while 102 points were compiled in Blair Oaks’ 64-38 district win seven weeks later. Coming into tonight’s Tri-County Conference matchup at Gene Reagan Field, the Falcons and the Pirates are averaging a combined 80 points per game this season. The offenses know how to find the end zone.

Goal Lines: Blair Oaks expects stiff test from Lutheran North

The Blair Oaks defense has risen to the occasion the past two times it has played the Lutheran North Crusaders. In the Class 3 state quarterfinals in 2020, the Falcons held the Crusader offense out of the end zone for the first time since Sept. 5, 2009, using a dominant second-half performance to win 44-9. Last season, Blair Oaks handed Lutheran North a 35-0 loss, its first shutout defeat since that same 2009 game against Westminster Christian.

Blair Oaks uses Jamboree as opportunity to test itself

The Blair Oaks Falcons had been planning for the Maryville Spoofhounds all week. They took a break for a few hours Friday night to face the Helias Crusaders and the Southern Boone Eagles in a Jamboree at the Falcon Athletic Complex.
