“She killed it,” Hoskins said. “Things went better than planned, but I had a few bad patches,” Smith said. She had aimed to run a time between 10 and 11 hours “I felt great for 20km, then had some mind games. I kept focussed and moving and was a bit sick. “I had to change my food from starchy carbs onto sugars.” Smith thanked her coach Jaimie Stevenson for her effort. She was considering a possible run in another ultra at Naseby in the last weekend of August.
