A trio of marine biologists at the University of Florida s Florida Museum of Natural History has found that the frog species Barbourula kalimantanensis, previously thought to be the only species of frog without lungs, does indeed have them.
CT scans of a rim rock crowned snake that swallowed more than half of a giant centipede show the reptile died of asphyxiation because the arthropod was one-third of its the size.
The rim rock crowned snake is the rarest snake in North America, and was spotted for the first time in 4 years in the Florida Keys but researchers say the reptile was found dead, and had apparently choked to death while trying to eat a giant centipede.
