A rising chatter begins to fill the afternoon. Paper flyers attempt to take flight in the breeze. Students walk across the Library Lawn as they make a beeline for tables with colorful school emblems. The Spring University Fair is in full swing. All converging at El Camino College, representatives from over 40 different universities came.
Abel Gallegos became the man behind some of the largest stadiums in the country. He was the lead builder of AT&T Stadium, Kyle Field in College Station, American Airlines Center and Globe Life Field, which opened last year.

Velia Aguilar Marrow, 56, left this earthly realm on Saturday, December 19, 2020, in San Angelo. She is now resting in eternal peace with her Lord, Jesus Christ.
She was born on January 20, 1964, to the late Rodrigo and Carmen Aguilar, in San Carlos, Coahuila, Mexico. Velia attended Reagan County schools, where she graduated in 1982, and remained to live in Big Lake for most of her life. Upon graduation, Velia began her banking career with Reagan State Bank, where she was Head Teller and Head Loan Department Teller. For the following twenty-four years, she continued working at Del Rio National Bank, Security State Bank and Big Lake Bank before transitioning to the Reagan County Tax Assessor-Collector office. There she served for almost fifteen years as a Deputy Tax Assessor collector till the time of her death.
