Nissley scores 25 points, Century defeats Devils Lake 74-62 in quarterfinals

Bismarck Century Logo. BISMARCK, N.D. – Bismarck Century advanced to their seventh semifinal round appearance in the last eight years with a 74-62 over Devils Lake. Logan Nissley scored a game-high 25 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as Century improved to 24-0 overall. Jailyn Martinson paced Devils Lake with 23 points as the Firebirds finished 17-5 overall. Century is 72-4 in the last 3 seasons and will play the winner of Shanley/Bismarck Legacy in the semifinals on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. from the Bismarck Events Center.

Fargo, ND, USA / 740 The FAN Mar 6, 2021 1:27 PM FARGO – Devils Lake senior Ramsey Brown surpassed 1,000 career points and the Firebirds edged out West Fargo 76-64 in a state qualifier on Saturday afternoon from the Scheels Center. The Firebirds (17-3 overall) advanced to their fifth straight state tournament and will play at 5 p.m. in the quarterfinals on Friday from the Bismarck Events Center. Brown tailed 16 points in the win and teammate Jailyn Martinson added 23 points and 7 rebounds for Devils Lake. Miriley Simon paced West Fargo with 18 points and 9 rebounds. The Packers finish the season 15-8 overall.

Martinson Leads Firebirds Over Hi-Liners

VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Devils Lake used a 15-0 run as part of a 15-5 start on the way to a 67-50 win over Valley City in High School Basketball Friday night at the Hi-Liner Activity Center. Valley City got a 3-pointer and a bucket inside by Samantha Hatcher to take a 5-0 lead 90 seconds into the game. But Malayna Barendt would start the run that gave the Firebirds the lead. Jailyn Martinson would end the run with a bucket inside with 13:00 to go in the first half. That lead would grow to 14 at 22-8 after a Martinson bucket inside with 10:29 remaining.
