The last time Utah State football scored 78 or more points in a game was over 100 years ago, when the Aggies defeated Idaho State 136-0 in 1919. Saturday night in USU’s home opener against the 2023 version of the Idaho State Bengals, Utah State made program history, scoring — you guessed it — 78 points in a thoroughly dominant 78-28 victory. The 78 points scored by USU were the fourth-most in a game in program history, the three higher scoring games all coming in the early 1900s.
