Sangamon County prosecutors have filed formal charges against six street gang members accused in recent firearms incidents around the community and other crimes.
All six are charged with multiple felonies with potential penalties ranging from ten to thirty years in prison. State’s Attorney Dan Wright says all six are being held in the Sangamon County Jail on bonds of anywhere from $200,000 to $300,000.
The six are: 24-year-old Anthony Strange; 18-year-old Mysean Burden; 18-year-old Jahquel Pearsall; 27-year-old Michael Smith; 18-year-old Jerry Broomfield; and 19-year-old Michael Benning. Wright won’t say if all of the suspects are part of the same gang.
