Vanessa Bouvet tied for fifth at the PGA WORKS Collegiate Individual Championship on Wednesday at TPC Sawgrass to become eligible for Symetra Tour MVP Invites into the Guardian Championship.
Bouvet, a junior from Brunei, posted a final-round 77 (+5) to move up one spot on the leader board into a tie with Ahmed in fifth place at 231. Ahmed, a senior from Folsom, Calif., who opened the the day in fifth, managed a final-round 79 (+7) to match Bouvet’s 231. The Husker duo finished 10 strokes in front of Missouri’s Keagan Dunn, who finished in seventh.
Phu Khine from UNC Wilmington cruised to the individual title with a 54-hole score of 218 (+2) on the 5,825-yard layout at TPC Sawgress. Missouri’s Jess Yuen was the runner-up after matching Khine’s final-round 76 (+4), but still finished six strokes back.
