AP High Court To Hear PIL Filed On 25% Seats Reservation For Poor In Private Schools On August 9 Jul 30, 2021, 12:31 IST The High Court said that it will hear public interest litigation (PIL) seeking directions to the government to amend the rules on the admission procedure under the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act and to provide 25 percent free seats to economically backward children in every private school. The bench comprising Chief Justice (CJ) Justice Arup Kumar Goswami and Justice Naina Jayasuriya issued orders on Thursday. Lawyer Thandava Yogesh filed public interest litigation in the High Court in 2017 alleging that the government was not providing 25 percent of free seats for the backward children in the private schools. The tribunal made it clear it is going to hear the case on August 9th.
