But perhaps its best movements this year came in working together to locate and set up an empty building to stage its and the Dancers Studio’s performances recently. Due to the pandemic and because some of the larger facilities normally used would have been cost prohibitive with very limited seating, the 40-year-old group feared it might not be able to find a place.

Girl Scout Cookies: 100,000 leftover boxes for sale in Knoxville

There have been a lot of odd side effects of pandemic life, but here s an incredibly sweet one: Girl Scouts of the Southern Appalachians have more than 100,000 leftover boxes of cookies and they re ready to sell them to you.  All you have to do is head to a drive-through cookie sale Saturday to help the girls continue funding their community service projects, trips and activities this year. And yes, their famous Thin Mints will be available.  The scouts couldn t do their typical door-to-door sales this year and while online sales and a partnership with Grubhub helped, it still wasn t enough. The scouts have enough leftover boxes to wrap around Interstate 640, the organization said.
