Tyner Softball Chalks Up Big Win Over East Ridge
Lady Rams Jada High Twirls Two-Hitter in 13-2 Victory Monday, April 26, 2021 - by William Shelton
The Tyner Lady Rams excelled in every facet of their game during a dominate 13-2 win over East Ridge softball. Tyner were better than East Ridge behind the plate, on the mound and around the bases on Monday afternoon.
Tyner set the tone of the game early with a productive opening inning behind the plate. They had five hits, including a two-run double from catcher Azia Price, and they brought five runners home to score before the inning was out.
If you see Ada boys coach Kyle Caufield smiling these days, it not just because heâs in the Christmas spirit.
Caufield watched his team make just enough plays down the stretch to turn back Shawnee 37-33 on Senior Night Friday inside the Cougar Activity Center.
Ada, ranked No. 6 in Class 4A, ended its first-semester schedule with five straight victories after dropping its season-opener at Shawnee 70-64.
The Wolves, under the direction of former Latta coach and Ada High graduate Paxton Kilby, have played just the two games against the Cougars after losing several scheduled contests due to COVID-19 concerns.
