PERSONAL and professional pride is going into the reopening of businesses on Monday – and a fair bit of DIY work too. Prime minister Boris Johnson confirmed the next stage of lockdown lifting in England will go ahead as planned on April 12. Non-essential shops, hairdressers and gyms can reopen, and pubs and restaurants can start serving customers outdoors. Connect2Vapes, a vaping shop in Broad Street, Worcester, have been preparing by giving the front of the premises a facelift ahead of launching a new range of stock to mark the comeback. “We are painting the outside of the shop, giving it a spruce up before we reopen. We’re all really excited about it,” said proprietor Andrew Connellan.
PERSHORE Town Football Club has offered to open its doors for Covid-19 vaccinations after pensioners faced a 16-mile round trip for jabs. Committee member Jacqui Marler revealed she had to take her 84-year-old mum to Upton for her first inoculation with available capacity limited in Pershore. The town centre-based club was still awaiting a response from Worcestershire County Council s logistics team as Evesham Journal went press, seven days after the initial offer was made with Mrs Marler keen to get the ball rolling. We offered the club as a vaccine centre after I had to take my mother to Upton, said Mrs Marler.

Large nature-themed murals have started to pop up in a Worcestershire town, painted on cling film.
The impromptu works in Pershore have been created by a graffiti artist who goes by the name of Mr Sce.
He said he wanted to make people happy with his creations, after rediscovering a love of art during the Covid-19 pandemic.
One local person dubbed him the Pershore Banksy , although the style of his latest work is very different.
The pieces, featuring different animals are painted on cling film, wrapped around trees - a technique Mr Sce said was inspired by another graffiti artist.
