The organizers said they hope to move the celebration to later in the year. That means the Illuminated Night Parade and PrideFest in Rhode Island won t coincide with Pride Month, which is marked nationally each year in June to honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan and the LGBTQ rights movement that sprang out of it.
