He was born in Front Royal on January 15, 1943, to the late John & Kathryn Wayland.
The love of farming was instilled in Billy at a very young age. He was driving tractors as early as 5 years old, standing to reach the clutch.
Billy could tell you the history on many brands of tractors and machinery. Massey Fergusons were his favorite by far. Many times over the years others came to Billy seeking advice on agriculture, specifically tractors and the raising of Angus cattle.
