It was a 3. 3 magnitude quake that rattled residents at about 1 30 this morning. It was centered outside of morgan hill. The usgs says people felt it as far away as orinda and pacific grove. No reports of damage. Now, cinthia, at first it struck me as interesting to see that they felt it as far away as orinda and the east bay, but its along a certain fault line. Its along the calveras fault and that starts around san ramon and it goes all the way down into san benito, and it sandwiches the San Andreas Fault and goes out to the coastline. Maybe thats why some people in the east bay did feel it. Minor quake, 3. 3, a depth of around four miles. The closer it is to the surface, the more that people can feel it.
