15 Jewish organizations to participate in Greater Hartford Legacy Giving initiative
WEST HARTFORD – The Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Hartford is spear-heading a community-wide legacy giving initiative with 14 Jewish organizations – as well as The Foundation itself – participating.
The initiative is part of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation’s (HGF) Life & Legacy program, a nationwide Jewish legacy giving initiative that aims to promote after-lifetime giving to benefit Jewish day schools, synagogues, social service organizations and other Jewish organizations. To date, HGF has secured more than 28,000 after-lifetime commitments with an estimated value of over one billion dollars for Jewish organizations across North America.

The Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Hartford has been selected to join 69 other Jewish Community Foundations and Jewish Federations in the Harold Grinspoon Foundation’s (HGF) Life & Legacy
program. A nationwide Jewish legacy giving initiative, Life & Legacy has secured more than 28,000 after-lifetime commitments with an estimated value of over a billion dollars for Jewish organizations across North America.
In partnership with HGF and local Jewish organizations, the Foundation will lead a local Life and Legacy community-wide initiative to promote after-lifetime giving to benefit Jewish day schools, synagogues, social service organizations and other Jewish entities. MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) â The Mankato East-Loyola boysâ hockey program owns a 3-and-1 record to start the 2021 season, as the team looks to defend the Section 1A title.
The Cougars returned their senior core - Layten Liffrig, Jacob Schreiber, JD Kragh, Brett Borchardt and Hayden Guillemette - who helped lead the team to obtain two section titles in three years, along with a state tournament appearance last year.
âLast year we talked about, after we won the section championship, super hard to win a section championship with five forwards and two or three defensemen,â Head Coach Adam Fries said.
Hartford’s Jewish Federation and Jewish Community Foundation Grant $600,000 for pandemic-related needs
WEST HARTFORD – Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford and Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Hartford have distributed more than $600,000 in grants to individuals, agencies, and synagogues in the Greater Hartford Jewish community experiencing financial hardship due to the pandemic.
The grants were made through the Jewish Hartford Rapid Relief and Recovery Fund (RRR Fund), a joint initiative created in March 2020 in response to the pandemic. The Federation and Foundation provided $150,000 in seed funding and nearly 500 community members contributed close to $1 million to the RRR Fund, including $300,000 in grants recommended by fund holders at the Jewish Community Foundation.
