Geddes, N.Y. It was the kind of recruitment email Carrie Rewakowski typically ignores.
It was early January, and Rewakowski, a registered nurse for 23 years, was in a sad place. Covid-19 hospitalizations and deaths were mounting. She wanted to help.
She opened that email from a health care temp agency Jan. 8. Six days later, she was seated at one of 20 tables at the New York State Fairgrounds, ready to vaccinate people against Covid-19.
