A woman who had been killed was found in her West Side apartment Friday after family members who arrived for a planned visit couldn’t contact her.
The woman, believed to be in her 50s, was discovered at about 2:38 p.m. at the Villas on Springvale apartments, 7678 U.S. Highway 90 East, San Antonio police said.
Jennifer Rodriguez, an SAPD spokeswoman, said out-of-town family members had planned to visit her Friday. When they arrived, she did not answer the door, nor did she respond to calls or text messages.

Rafael Castillo, 26, is led into the Bexar County Jail, Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2020. Castillo has been charged in the murder of Nicole Perry, 31.
