N.J. man charged with bias crime after changing sign at trail in Pine Barrens to offensive message, cops say Updated 9:15 AM; Facebook Share A New Jersey man was charged with a bias crime after police say he altered the wording of “Black Run Preserve” sign at the Pine Barrens forest in Burlington County to an offensive message. Maxwell Arnal, 19, admitted he was responsible for changing the sign at the Evehsam preserve nature trail on March 28 “to reflect an offensive and biased message,” Police Chief Christopher Chew said in a statement. “Detectives were able to determine a suspicious vehicle was seen in the area of the offense and upon responding to the registered owner’s address, evidence associated with the crime was observed in plain view inside the vehicle,” Chew said.

New apartment communities opening in Marlton

EVESHAM Two new township apartment complexes will house hundreds of people, according to officials familiar with the project.  Walters, a development company based in Barnegat, is close to opening a family community, Cornerstone at Marlton, on Executive Drive and a senior community on Stow Road, Cornerstone at Greentree. Both are 100 percent affordable housing projects that were initially approved by the township planning board in 2018.  The family neighborhood will have 64 units and the senior neighborhood will have 68, according to Joe Del Duca, the owner of Walters. Both complexes will reserve 50 percent of the apartments for moderate income tenants and the other half for low income tenants.
