Dear Gov. Ron DeSantis, Resilient Jax is a young coalition of Jacksonville nonprofits dedicated to educating and organizing people while working with our representatives on solutions to the numerous climate change threats faced by our city. Those threats include sea and river level rise, extreme heat and flooding from tropical storms.
Our members have participated extensively for the past year as resident experts with the recent Jacksonville City Council Special Resiliency Committee and helped draft its recent report.
We now feel compelled to weigh in on your proposed $1 billion Resilient Florida program that was recently passed by the Legislature.
