Round-the-clock concrete plant for Sydney Harbour site

Advertisement Plans to build an around-the-clock concrete plant at Sydney’s Glebe Island are being fought by nearby residents who say it is at odds with the Berejiklian government’s plans to redevelop White Bay into a waterfront destination. The proposed concrete batching plant would consist of six silos, 34-metres tall, built to contain sand and cement inside a partially covered warehouse, with an enclosed conveyor belt, next to Anzac Bridge. An artist’s impression of the White Bay makeover, featuring White Bay Power Station, apartments and waterfront parks. The facility would operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with as many as 182 truck movements per hour.
