Port Jackson Partners a new power at EY-Parthenon

When a big-four consultancy buys a boutique, itâs usually the smaller firm thatâs forced to painfully conform to the mores of its new parent.
Mind you, the rule isnât iron-clad. Consider storied strategy consultancy Port Jackson Partners, which was purchased by EYâs global strategy brand, EY-Parthenon, this time last year.
From what we hear, the Port Jackson Partners types have certainly made their power known internally. They have, for example, two years under which theyâre allowed to retain the Port Jackson Partners name. And attempts to plan their absorption into the EY-Parthenon brand have experienced some hiccups. EYâs marketing staff have struggled just to get senior staff to attend meetings. Which, we suppose, should have the effect of stringing the whole thing out, whether or not thatâs intentional.
