The promo for the next episode of the ABC hit confused fans a bit when it aired last week, since we last saw Jackson (
Jesse Williams) plotting an 11-hour drive, only to then see him arrive at the house of his ex-wife and the mother of his child, April Kepner (
Sarah Drew). An episode description did help clear up the issue just a little bit, explaining that Jackson first goes to see his dad (in Montana, 11 hours away), which sets him on the right path.

The day is almost here.
Grey s Anatomy released the first promo for Sarah Drew s anticipated return as April Kepner following Thursday s episode, and the next installment, which airs in two weeks, is sure to be an emotional one.
In the 30-second teaser, Jackson (Jesse Williams) psyches himself up as he drives to someone s home in the pouring Seattle rain and nearly loses the will to stick with the plan that got him there in the first place. This seems impulsive and out of nowhere, but it s not, Jackson tries to assure himself after he rings the doorbell. It s just I ve thought it through, I ve just thought it through very. Just as he s about to finish his thought, the door opens and, surprise, it s April with their daughter Harriet resting on her shoulder.

At the hospital, injured protesters start arriving by ambulance, including Nell (special guest star Phylicia Rashad), a woman impaled by a tear gas canister. Guy, a young man, was struck by a rubber bullet and suffered a cardiac event. Guy goes into a âV-fib stormâ because of a myocardial contusion, so Maggie (Kelly McCreary) rushes him into surgery. She performs a radio-frequency ablation on Guy, though, and he survives.

Nell ultimately pulls through, too, and she tells Cormac, Jackson, and Richard about her battle scars from past protests. She tore an ACL at Ferguson, for example, and got frostbite at Standing Rock. In fact, sheâs been protesting ever since her mother took her to the March on Washington in 1963. She even remembers hearing Martin Luther King Jr.âs speech. âIt felt like possibility,â she tells the doc.
