Ill show you the scene behind me as they are rallying on the uc Berkeley Campus and as you mentioned the fight for 15 is an effort to get the minimum wage increase and typically when we talk about minimum wage stories were talking restaurant workers, but this fight for 15 also includes child care workers, cashiers and many more lowwage workers. The other component of their fight is unionizing and im joined by one of the organizers, mary kay with sciu. What kind of difference would unionizing make for the folks behind me. Workers need a seat at the table with multinational corporations like mcdonalds and walmart in order to make sure they have schedules and hours when they raise their wages and a good job is if they can negotiate over skedchedules and get pay for sick time and they can fight for retirement and health care for everyone in this country and thats why were so proud to get the union.
