FARGO, N.D. – Omaha scored all five runs with two outs Sunday, as the Mavericks defeated the North Dakota State baseball team 5-4 in the series finale at Newman Outdoor Field.
NDSU dropped to 32-14 overall and 17-10 in the Summit League, while Omaha improved to 19-19 overall and 11-8 in league play. The Bison will enter the final weekend of Summit League play in second in the standings. NDSU returns to action on Monday with a game against Concordia (Minn.). First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Newman Outdoor Field.
Peter Brookshaw and Bennett Hostetler each had two hits for the Bison, while Hostetler added three RBI and two runs scored. Hostetler moved into fourth in school history with 142 career runs scored. Evan Sankey had a no-decision on the mound, as he struck out three and walked three, while allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits in six innings of work. Ben Smith had a no-decision on the mound in four innings of work, allowing six runs (five earned) on seven hits and a walk, while striking out one.
Gabe Pilla struck out five in three innings, while walking three and allowing a run on a hit.
Jake Drew improved to 4-0 on the year in an inning of work, as he struck out two and allowed a hit.
Parker Harm picked up his seventh save of the year in the final inning, earning a strikeout.
Bennett Hostetler moved into second in school history in games played with 209 and fourth with 204 career starts. He also moved into the top five in runs scored with 140. Harm now ranks fourth in school history with 64 career appearances and sixth with 10 saves.

FARGO, ND – For the second time in as many days, the North Dakota State baseball team used a big rally in the eighth inning to beat Omaha, as the Bison scored five runs in the eighth inning for an 8-7 win over the Mavericks Saturday at Newman Outdoor Field.
The fifth-straight win moved the Bison to 32-13 overall and 17-9 in the Summit League, while the Mavericks dropped to 18-19 overall and 10-8 in league play. The 32 wins are tied for the third most in school history. NDSU has now scored four or more runs in the eighth inning or later in wins over Omaha this season, as the Bison have now won five of the seven meetings heading into the final regular season meeting between the two teams. The Bison will host Omaha on Sunday at Newman Outdoor Field. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.

FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State scored four runs in the eighth inning of the opener for the 8-7 win before shutting out Omaha 2-0 in the nightcap, earning a doubleheader sweep on the opening day of a Summit League baseball series at Newman Outdoor Field Friday.
The Bison improved to 31-13 overall and 16-9 in Summit League play, while Omaha dropped to 18-18 overall and 10-7 in league play. NDSU moved ahead of Omaha in the league standings to second with six games remaining for NDSU on the league schedule. NDSU’s 31 wins are tied for the fourth most in program history, while the 16 Summit League wins are the second most in school history. Game three of the four-game series is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Newman Outdoor Field.

BROOKINGS, S.D. (NDSU Athletics)- North Dakota State scored two runs in the ninth and two runs in the 10th on Saturday, earning a doubleheader split with South Dakota State in the final games of a Summit League baseball series. The Jacks won the first game 12-2 in eight innings before NDSU took the series finale 13-12 in 10 innings.
The Bison are 25-12 overall and 14-9 in Summit League play, while the Jackrabbits are 11-21 overall and 6-10 in league play. With just two Summit League series remaining for the Bison, NDSU sits in second place behind Oral Roberts and ahead of Omaha. The Bison have played 12 more league games than Oral Roberts and 11 more than Omaha. NDSU is scheduled to host Valley City State on Tuesday, April 27 at Newman Outdoor Field. First pitch is set for 5:30 p.m.
