There is a major traffic alert in the Bay Area this morning. 580 westbound in Pleasanton before the 680 interchange, there is a fuel spill.
A big rig and a car collided at 1am resulting in a fuel spill. All 4 of the left lanes are closed. The right lane was just reopened around 5:30am. There is no estimated time of reopening of the 4 left lanes. Caltrans needs to clean up the fuel spill which could take hours.
As of 6am, traffic is backed up to Santa Rita Rd.
