Jack County Commissioners began the process of purchasing new vehicles for the Jack County Sheriff’s Office. Jack County Judge Keith Umphress, who attended the meeting via Zoom, said the county needed to consider getting a transport van with the potential of 20 inmates from Collin County being housed there.
Jack County Judge Keith Umphress told commissioners court attendees about the Monday, Dec. 18 meeting with both the court and Jacksboro city officials.
Jack County Judge Keith Umphress has been elected as Past Chair of Nortex Regional Planning Commission for the next year. The Executive Committee of Nortex Regional Planning Commission elected Judge Umphress at its regular monthly Board meeting in September to serve in this capacity for the Commission.
Jack County Judge Keith Umphress was named District 3 Man of the Year by the Texas County Agricultural Agents Association during a Tuesday, July 11 banquet. Umphress has been judge since 2019, and presently serves as chairman of the North Texas Regional Planning Commission, chair of the 271st District Juvenile Justice Committee and president of the Association of Rural Communities of Texas.
The state legislature made a $3 billion investment in mental health programs this session, including a grant program that will fund community-based initiatives “to develop innovative strategies that provided resiliency, coping and social skills, healthy social and familial relationships, and parenting skills and behaviors.”
