With the start of early voting approaching quickly, candidates to become Houston’s next mayor made one of their final pitches to voters at a debate on Thursday.
A new survey regarding Houston city elections by the Hobby School of Public Affairs said that it's a close mayoral race between U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee and state Sen. John Whitmire.
Whitmire, a longtime state senator who is considered the frontrunner in the mayoral race, has brought in more than $1 million in campaign contributions since July and spent nearly $4 million during that span.
In addition to the candidates who participated in our mayoral debate on Tuesday, KPRC 2 was able to talk with 10 more contenders who aspire to lead the city.
