The Truman State football team celebrated homecoming on Saturday by getting a bounce back win over William Jewell after suffering their first loss of the season the week before. The Bulldogs jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter, thanks to a pair of turnovers, and held on from there to win 31-10.
The Truman State football team took control early and pulled away with 35 points in the second half to win their conference opener against McKendree 56-24 on the road Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs returned three interceptions for touchdowns in the game as they helped the team put up its highest point total since a 59-32 win over Quincy on Oct. 29 last year.
The Truman State football made another statement with a tough non-conference win on Saturday at home against Saginaw Valley State. The Bulldogs shut down the Cardinals running game throughout and pulled ahead with a pair of second-half scores to win 21-7 and improve to 3-0 on the season. Saginaw Valley dropped to 2-1 with the loss.
The Truman State football team hosted South Dakota Mines for their home opener on Saturday, looking to start the season 2-0. After battling from behind for much of the game, the Bulldogs took a lead late in the fourth quarter and held on for a 28-24 win over the Hardrockers.
