Spring seems to have arrived almost out of nowhere one week there were frigid temperatures and snow, and the next, balmy days filled with sun.
The COVID-19 pandemic has shuttered many people indoors over the past year, and the arrival of spring is certainly welcomed by all. Pandemic restrictions and an urge to get out of the home have led to higher usage of trails than in previous years.

“The parking lot has been full all winter. We had cars lined up down the county road,” said Jean-Pierre Tibi, a spokesperson for the Friends of the Summerstown Forest, which has doubled its membership in the past year. The move to remote work, combined with the restrictions, has seen more and more people have the freedom and urge to take to the trails.
