Layers of Fear? Why or why not?
Bloober Team‘s upcoming psychological horror game, The Medium, is set to release exclusively on the Xbox Series X/S and PC on January 28th, but upon being quizzed about a PlayStation 5 port, the developer refused to rule the possibility out.
“For now we are just focusing on Xbox and PC,” Producer Jacek Zięba told VG247 during a recent interview. As pointed out by the folks over at PushSquare, Bloober Team made the same exact statement about 2019’s
Blair Witch, which first released on the Xbox One and PC, followed by a PS4 release only four months later.
While this doesn’t necessarily mean that
The Medium Is Still The Same Great Experience On Xbox Series S
Bloober Team is confident the power of the Xbox Series S is enough to deliver The Medium without compromise.
The Medium is one of the first Microsoft published titles that will be exclusive to the company s new consoles, with developer Bloober Team assuring fans that the horror with run well on the Xbox Series S.
In an interview with VG24/7, lead designer Wojciech Piejko and producer Jacek Zięba spoke about the experience of playing The Medium on Microsoft s less powerful Xbox Series S. The pair agreed that the experience was identical, and that only small graphical differences really separate the two in almost indistinguishable ways.

Bloober Team s psychological horror game The Medium got delayed from its former December 2020 release window, but the title is now very close to its new launch date, due for January 28th on PC and Xbox Series S|X.
While the game will obviously run at its best on console when paired with the more powerful Xbox Series X model, Bloober s Jacek Zięba explained in a new interview published on VG247 that he was recently blown away by the Xbox Series S after playing The Medium on it.
Producer Jacek Zięba: Yeah, I even played the whole game on Series S like one week ago and I was blown away because I thought I played on Series X. Somebody told me “man, this is Series S.” What!
