CPEC projects in Hazara: Security of Chinese nationals upped after Dasu incident

July 20, 2021 MANSEHRA: The police have enhanced the security of Chinese nationals working on various projects being executed under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) initiatives in the wake of the Dasu bus explosion. District Police Officer Asif Bahadur visited the Jabori Hydropower Project and reviewed its entire security plan and personnel’s deployment. He also met with the Chinese engineers and workers and inquired about the security arrangements made by the police and dam administration. The security of the 880 megawatts Suki Kinari Hydropower Project, being executed in the Kaghan valley under the CPEC initiatives, was also enhanced and extra-personnel of the Frontier Constabulary deployed, officials said.

Daily Times July 12, 2021 Amid sizzling temperature of above 40 degree centigrade coupled with long hours, unannounced power outages have started adversely affecting people and industrial production owing to a substantial energy shortfall of about 600 megawatt in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa gripped by severe heat wave since the start of this month. As sun is spewing out severe heat, people in Peshawar’s peripheries, southern districts including Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan besides merged areas were witnessing the brunt of load-shedding for about 10-14 hours daily, especially on high loss feeders forcing consumers to install solar systems, purchase generators and UPS besides water pools to protect their loved ones from the scorching heat.

Fisheries Dept launches crackdown on illegal hunting and other indigenous tasty fish species in the River Siran. “We have launched a crackdown against the illegal fish hunting through electric current and explosives to protect Mullah and other indigenous fish species,” Sadia Noor, the fishery department’s inspector, told reporters in Dadar area of Siran valley on Saturday. Led by Noor, a team of fishery department arrested three hunters red-handedly fishing in the river in the Dadar and Sam areas and fined them. “We have been issuing permits to hunters who hunt with hooks but killing fishes with electric current and explosives can’t be allowed at any cost,” she said.

Three held for illegal fishing in Siren River - Newspaper

MANSEHRA: The fishery department has launched a crackdown on the illegal hunting of mulla and other endangered fishes in the Siren River. “The action is meant to check the use of electric current and explosives to catch fish,” inspector of the fisheries department Sadia Noor told reporters in Dadar area of Siren valley on Saturday. Led by Ms Noor, a team of the department arrested three men for illegally fishing in the Siren River in Dadar and Sum areas and fined them heavily. “We have been issuing permits for fishing with the help of hooks, so killing fishes by electric current and explosives can’t be allowed,” Ms Noor said.
