Join us for the third installment of the Chuck Hagel Forum in Global Leadership series hosted in partnership with the Atlantic Council. This series explores critical issues with global leaders in search of solutions to today’s global challenges, and it provides an opportunity to engage with Secretary Hagel and other global leaders, policymakers, and thinkers. Discovery Hall, which opened last fall on the UNK campus, was constructed through a successful state-university partnership that addresses critical deferred maintenance needs across the University of Nebraska system. The state-of-the-art STEM facility replaced UNK’s nearly 70-year-old Otto Olsen building, which was on the state’s capital construction replacement list for more than two decades.
LINCOLN – University of Nebraska President Ted Carter asked state senators on Tuesday to extend a 30-year partnership to keep NU facilities up-to-date, praising a “smart, responsible and action-oriented” legislative proposal he said would address a longstanding challenge for the campuses while saving valuable taxpayer dollars.
